· Educational Assistance through the Home Tutor Scheme & Garrick Scholarship Fund
Types of bequests
A bequest can take many different forms, some of which include:
· A specific sum of money or an item bequeathed to the charity
· The residue or a percentage of an estate
· A life insurance or superannuation policy
· Your whole estate, whereby you bequeath all your assets to the charity.
Example of bequest wording
An example of bequest wording is set out below, but should be only used as a guide for you and your solicitor. The exact wording will depend on the type of bequest you wish to make.
"I .............................. give and bequeath Childhood Cancer Association Inc., Level 1/55 King William Road, North Adelaide SA 5006: The sum of $...........(cash) and/or ........% of my total estate, free from the payment of debts, funeral and testamentary expenses and any duties payable in respect of my estate, and declare that the receipt of the General Manager or other proper officer of the Childhood Cancer Association Inc. shall be sufficient discharge to my Executors in respect thereof".
